This model will compete directly with the slew of other low cost tablets scheduled for release this year from manufactures such as Polaroid and Alcatel.
In terms of design this is a cousin to the popular Nexus 7. It comes with the same textured back that a lot of people like since it provides a better grip when holding it.
Don’t expect this model to be a powerhouse as its specs are quite underwhelming. Asus said that “Our focus for this device is on delivering excellent performance per watt and a smooth and fluid user experience at an extremely affordable price, NOT on winning benchmarks”. If you are looking for a sub $150 gaming machine then this one isn’t it.
This model will be available directly from Asus and its retail partners in selected regions this month. Will also be making its way to the U.S. this April and will come with support for Hulu Plus, Netflix, HBO Go and more. There will be three colors to choose from which are pink, gray, and white.
