Interesting news today for fans patiently waiting for Square Enix to tidy up the final trimmings for the eventual release of their Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, as GameStop accidentally revealed the existence of a limited edition version of the game. I say accidentally because not long after the site posted the news as part of their Weekly Ad, the PDF was removed and the previous week’s advertisement is currently all that currently remains. Fortunately, the good folks over at Siliconera managed to save a screen cap before the image was removed. Take a look:
For those who can’t read the slighty-blurred text, under the image for Final Fantasy X/X2 reads the message, “Pre-order to receive your free limited edition upgrade.” A curious note, as Square Enix has yet to officially announce a limited edition. Now the question becomes what type of content fans can expect with their “upgrade.” It’s usually a safe bet to say an art book or even a soundtrack of some sort would be included. Of course, there’s also the possibility that the limited edition could include bonus content, such as the “Last Mission” we reported on a few months back. Given how quickly GameStop removed the content, I expect Square Enix will be making a formal announcement shortly concerning what exactly is contained within the limited edition.
In the meantime, do you folks have something specific you’d like to see included in a limited edition for the FFX/X-2 Remaster? Are there any bonus features or items you’d prefer? Who would be content with just the art book and soundtrack? Let us know in the usual place, and don’t forget to like IGXPro on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, or give us the ‘ol +1 on Google+. If you can’t get enough of my shenanigans, (who could blame you?) you can check me out @GamingsNirvana, or add +VinnyParisi to your circles.
