Shortly after Japan was rocked by the Earthquake last month Sony started a fundraiser on PSN to save Japan. If you donated money to the cause, you would receive a special Japan-themed XMB theme and because of this over $1.3 million has been donated. I have been bidding on the occasional item from “Play for Japan” on eBay where they have tons of signed and rare memorabilia so definitely worth it to help out a good cause and get something awesome.
“While we continue to make every effort to help the recovery of the affected communities in the region, I would like to express our gratitude to every single PlayStation user across the world who made a contribution to the effort,” said Kazuo Hirai, president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment.
It’s still not over yet! If you haven’t donated yet you should consider it of course or if you don’t have any extra pocket change anywhere then encourage friends to donate!
