Team Bondi is really out for the count, the company is literally gone; unreachable, no contact and the company’s establishment is now just another empty office in the outskirts of Sydney, Australia. Yes, the worse has came, after battling rigorous issues for the last few months, Team Bondi has now been shutdown and put into administration according to the listings of the Australian Securities & Investments Commission.
This might come to be a somewhat very hard to believe after the company’s recent success with its detective game installment – L.A. Noire. As a PC gamer, this news is giving me extreme chills as the game has not yet been released on the PC Platform. For PC guys out there who were itching for the launch of this very beautiful game, it’s hard to say that this issue won’t be messing with the release date for the PC platform. It seems like there are going to be more days of waiting.
Controversy over Team Bondi started a few months ago when a group of company employees took to the internet and launched a website called lanoirecredits.com, which spilled out over 100 employee names that were not listed in the original credits of the game. This then took the notice of the International Game Developers Association, which placed Team Bondi in rough waters. Since then, the company has been in constant bombardment with complaints from employees about managerial style and bad labor practices that seems to be comparable with the company CEO’s past stints with the same issues back when he still worked for Electronic Arts in 2004.
Tough there has not been an official word from the company to how they got into their current predicament, but if the issues of bankruptcy is confirmed, then this might be the last we will see of Team Bondi, a sad ending for the developers after very successful stint with their latest game.
