Josh Olin, the community manager of Treyarch who has been on the team since early 2008 announced on his twitter that yesterday was his last day, and he has now resigned from his position as community manager.
Josh’s role as community manager also extended to releasing information on the Call of Duty franchise via his Twitter account, under the username JD_2020, a good source of info and also ran a Call of Duty fansite that got Treyarch’s attention while they were looking for a community manager. The reason for him leaving the company is not known but he will surely be missed.
According to some comments on the internet, Guy Beahm has taken over his job for now despite Modern Warfare releasing in around a month. I don’t know how the CoD community as a whole viewed him since I avoid shooter communities because it’s unacceptable for a man my age to hang around 12 year olds but it seems to be very wild in both directions. Either way, when a known face leaves a company, it’s something worth knowing about regardless of whenever you love them or hate them.
