Animal Crossing players were greeted with an unexpected visitor when they booted up the game today: Nintendo of America president Reggie “My Body Is Ready” Fils-Aime. Reggie has made his New Leaf home available via SpotPass, and the house is as strange as the person who lives there.
Reggie’s house was first highlighted via a Nintendo promotional video, which you can watch above. The place is basically a big Nintendo museum, housing all of the extremely rare Nintendo-themed items that you can usually only get via the game’s random fortune cookies. Oh, and there’s a bed with his face printed on the sheets. That’s completely normal, right?
While you can usually order copies of other players’ furniture, most of the items in Reggie’s mansion aren’t available for resale, so you’ll need to track down that Master Sword or Metroid yourself. On the plus side, you can order Reggie’s toilet (which is in his bedroom, for some reason.)
I’ve been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the last two weeks or so (expect a full review soon,) and I have to say, I’m completely addicted, even though I can’t really explain why: Animal Crossing is as pointless as it ever was, but I’m having a hard time putting it down. The game’s Street and SpotPass features are the best part of the game (you should see some of the crazy shit I picked up from Japanese players at E3,) and I hope Nintendo sends more special visitors to my town besides Reggie.
