Underrated Wii action-RPG Muramasa is being ported over to the Playstation Vita, and fans of the 3 year old game might just have a reason to double-dip and buy Muramasa all over again: Vanillaware announced today that the Vita version of the game will feature an all new downloadable sidequest.
Roughly translated as “The Story of Genroku,” the new DLC pack will contain “100% new content” according to Vanillaware. It’s currently unknown what the DLC pack contains, and whether any further DLC’s are planned for the game post-launch.
Muramasa already provided a pretty lengthy adventure, so it’ll be interesting to see how meaty this new DLC is. The last thing the Vita needs is more ports, but I can’t really complain about having an excuse to play Muramasa again: the game’s fast, addictive combat and beautiful graphics made it one of my favorite Wii games, and I don’t think it’s hyperbole to state that Muramasa is perhaps the best 2D action-RPG to come along since Secret of Mana. A lot of people stupidly skipped Muramasa when it came out on Wii, so here’s hoping it finds an audience on Vita.
